Fiscal Impact

This levy is expected to generate $5,000 in this Special Service Area.

Background

Special Service Area Seven was created by Village Ordinance on June 4, 2018, and provides

for a special annual tax levy on properties located within the area. The taxes are collected

by the Cook County Collector and remitted to the Village. The Finance Department then

utilizes the levy proceeds to offset the cost of speed tables.

Alternatives

The Board could choose not to adopt the levy or defer until a later date.  By law, tax levies must be filed with the Cook County Clerk’s Office no later than December 31, 2019 (the last Tuesday of December).
