Overview

The Ordinance amends Section 7-12-1 of the Village Code to adopt a new label requirement for plumbing fixtures and irrigation controlloers pursuant to a new rule adopted by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.  The Ordinance also prohibits lawn sprinkling between the hours of 10:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. and exempts new lawns less than three (3) months old from this prohibition as allowed by the new rule.

Background

As stated above, the Ordinance amends Section 7-12-1 of the Village Code to adopt a new lable requirement for plumbing fixtures and irrigation controllers.  The Ordinance also prohibits lawn sprinkling between the hours of 10:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. and exempts newly seeded or sodded lawns from this prohibition.   The Ordinance is required to be adopted pursuant to a new rule adopted by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources that is contained in the Illinois Administrative Code, 17 Ill. Adm. Code 3730.307, which mandates that those municipalities who receive allocations of water from Lake Michigan adopt an ordinance that contains the above requirements.
