Background
The Village typically plants approximately 300 - 500 trees each year on Village right-of-way in parkway and medians. To ensure a successful installation, part of the after care for these trees is watering provided by a contractor for the first growing season.
In April 2022, Village staff requested bids for the village-wide parkway tree watering program. Everest Snow Management, Inc. was the low responsive bidder for this contract. Everest Snow Management, Inc. previously completed this work for the Village in the past (2017-2023). They are a quality contractor who provides excellent service.
Village staff requests to exercise the second of the two possible renewals outlined in the original contract.
Fiscal Impact
The Fiscal Year 2024 Capital Improvement Fund Budget includes $200,000.00 to perform parkway tree purchase, planting, and watering in account # 3095-43780-101-570957 (Public Works, Capital Projects, Tree Replacement).
Of this budgeted amount, $65,000.00 is proposed for the watering of the trees from the plantings last fall and this spring and $131,000.00 is proposed ...
