Introduction

The Fiscal Year 2026 Fleet Replacement Fund includes the replacement of two (2) 2016 pickup trucks, one (1) 2014 Ford Expedition, and the addition of one (1) Fire rescue vehicle. The planned vehicles will be 2026 Ford F-250 Pickup Trucks, with builds appropriate to assigned duties. The Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) awarded the bid to Sutton Ford of Matteson, Illinois.

Prior Board Action
The Village Board approved funding for this vehicle/equipment replacement as part of the Fiscal Year 2026 Capital Improvement Budget on December 9, 2025 (ORD-25-220).
Background
Two of the vehicles are considered emergency response vehicles, and the consequences of their downtime could compromise the safety of citizens and those who work in the village. Two of the vehicles are frontline Public Works vehicles assigned to infrastructure maintenance and plowing duties.
The new vehicles will have 4-wheel drive, a 6.8-liter V-8 gas engine, and two will be equipped with snowplows and associated equipment.
Two of the vehicles will be assigned to the Fire Department and outfitted with specialized builds/equipment for the duties they will perform.
They also come with a three-year, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, and Fleet purchases include an increase from the five-year, 60,000-mile to a five-year, 100,000-mile Powertrain warranty.
Each year, the Village allocates funds for the annual replacement of vehicles in the Fleet Replacement Fund. The Public Works Department manages the budget for vehicles that will replace those units that have reached the end of their service life under the fleet replacement program.
