This proclamation honors the lie and legacy of Mrs. Wyanetta Johnson, a pioneering community leader and education advocate whose more than four decades of service advanced racial equity, student opportunity, and community engagement in Oak Park and the greater Oak Park and River Forest area. The proclamation recognizes her enduing impact on generations of students and families and affirms the Village’s continued commitment to the principles of equity, justice, and inclusion that guided her life’s work.
