The Street Lighting Division of the Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining and repairing the street light and traffic control systems in the Village. The department annually seeks competitive bids for street light and traffic control parts and materials.

Background
On December 28, 2022, a Request for Bids was posted on the Village website and sent to six vendors that staff has purchased materials from in the past. Five vendors provided material price bids for 2023. The materials are purchased from the lowest cost qualified vendor based on the availability and quality of the material. Staff is bringing forward an agreement that exceeds $25,000.00, the limit of the Village Manager's spending authority. PJD Electric Sales, Inc. has provided competitive pricing for some of these materials. This vendor has been providing street light and traffic control materials to the Village for many years.
Fiscal Impact
The Fiscal Year 2023 budget provides funds for street lighting and traffic control materials in the Street Lighting Budget, Roadway Maintenance, account no. 1001-43720-101-560631-0000 ($65,000.00) for street lighting repairs, and traffic control repairs.
Based on the bid summary and the estimate of materials needed, staff anticipates spending up to an amount of $40,000.00 of the total $65,000.00 with PJD Electric Sales, Inc.
