Due to staff vacancies in the health department, the Village intends to have the contractor provide health inspections for food service establishments, tanning salons, tattoo facilities, and any additional environmental health inspections that may arise for the Village's Health Department pursuant this Agreement through December 31, 2022.

Fiscal Impact
The services provided under the Agreement are budgeted under the Village Budget Health Services (44550)-Environmental Services (612)-External Support (530667).
Background
The Public Health Department has been without a licensed Health Inspector since December, 2021. The Health Department has had challenges recruiting replacements for either of the 2 vacant positions. Due to delay in recruitment, there is a backlog of Health Department inspections preventing businesses from opening in a timely fashion.
Last year, the Village Manager, under her authority, executed an agreement with Health Inspection Professionals, Inc to conduct restaurant inspections beginning June 16, 2021. Continuing with this contract will allow for the contractors to complete additional inspections which should allow us to meet the requirements set out by the State of Illinois for Certified Public Health Departments.
