Overview

The FY 16 draft budget includes a recommendation to increase the permit fee for restaurants and floral displays on the public sidewalk. Body

Staff Recommendation

As this item is for its first reading, no action is required at this time.   In addition, the Village Board can discuss this information further at the Study Sessions scheduled on the FY 16 proposed budget on November 5, 2015 and November 9, 2014.

Fiscal Impact

Staff projects the proposed increase will generate an additional $25,000 annually.

Background

Staff presented its analysis and the Finance Committee approved the proposal to be brought before the full Board for discussion.   There are currently 40 license holders.   The recommended increase is related to the cost to inspect and infrastructure repair associated with private use of the public sidewalk.
