Background
As an entitlement community, the Village of Oak Park receives an annual Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) allocation from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and uses the funds for a variety of locally determined projects.
The Village is limited to allocating 15% of the annual CDBG allocation to public services and 20% to administration. The Community Development Citizen Advisory Commission (CDCAC) reviews public services applications and is recommending funding. The Village’s PY 2026 begins on October 1 each year which coincides with the start of the Federal Fiscal Year.
In PY2026, the Village will be providing $306,593 to support public service organizations in Oak Park. This resolution and agreement provides $51,593 of these funds to Beyond Hunger.
Timing Considerations
The program year begins October 1, 2026 and ends September 30, 2027. Timely approval and execution of the subrecipient agreement is necessary to allow the subrecipient to begin program implementation and expenditures at the start of the program year.
