Pursuant to the Village Board's referral, the Plan Commission held a public hearing on text amendments to the Zoning Ordinance for the purpose of allowing governmental activities, buildings and uses to be permitted uses in all zoning districts.

Background
The Zoning Ordinance contains contradictory regulations relative to the use of governmental property. This is a clean-up of these inconsistencies as well as establishing broader regulations to necessitate the use of governmental parking spaces on nearby property as long as they are owned and operated by the same governmental agency. The following recommendations will allow any governmental activity, building and use to operate as a permitted use but would still be required to meet all other bulk zoning regulations, such as setbacks, height, etc.
