Title
A Resolution Authorizing a Three Month Extension of the Employee Lease Agreement for a Temporary Civil Engineer with GovTemps USA, LLC

End
Overview
Overview
There have been several positions in the Engineering Division of Public Works that have become vacant in the past year. The extension of this agreement will allow the Division to be fully staffed while a vacant Engineering Technician position is being recruited.

Body
Staff Recommendation
Approval.

Fiscal Impact
The Department of Public Works will fund the cost of the temporary engineer through its External Support accounts. The unspent funds from the Salaries account will cover the cost. A future budget ammendment will be necessary to move the funds from the Salaries to Extenal Support account.

Background
In November 2012,the Human Resources Department issued an RFP for recruitment services and temporary placement services for various municipal positions. GovTemps and three other firms that specialize in police recruitments and other managerial recruitments were contacted. GovTemps was the only firm that specialized in temporary placements with employees who specifically worked in municipal organizations.

The GovTemps engineer has been working with the Department of Public Works in various capacities and has been doing an excellent job keeping projects running.

Alternatives
If the Village Board does not approve this contract extension, the Engineering Technician position would remain vacant. The Department of Public Works would need assistance from an outside engineering consultanst until the position if permanently filled to keep the projects running.

Previous Board Action
This contract was previously approved by the Village Boad on July 7, 2014.
