Overview
The Park District of Oak Park has agreed to host the 2016 Sculpture Walk. The event will feature twelve (12) unique sculpture pieces juried by members of Oak Park’s Public Art Commission and representatives from the Park District of Oak Park sited throughout Mills Park for the duration of the 2016 Sculpture Walk running from early June through early September.

$40,000 has been allocated in the 2016 Capitol Improvement Fund for this event.
Background
Now in its fifth year, the Annual Oak Park Sculpture Walk celebrates Public Art through the installation of up to 12 pieces of unique sculpture art in a close geographic area. In addition to the Sculpture Walk, the event also features guided tours and educational opportunities to more fully explore public art in the Oak Park Community.

Citizen Advisory Commission Action
The Public Art Advisory Commission approved a motion to make a recommendation to the Village Board to site the 2016 Sculpture Walk Event in Mills Park in partnership with the Oak Park Park District.
