Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Overview
Historically, the parking public prefers to see that a parking space is available when determining where to park. For this reason, most parkers will first seek out on-street and surface parking lots. The proposed signage would assist parkers in understanding that there are available parking spaces in the Village parking garages, helping to alleviate the anxiety of not being able to see the parking space before making the decision to enter the parking garage to park.

Fiscal Impact
This project would cost $243,000 to modify or install seven double-sided and four single-sided signs (see attached examples). These signs would be paid for from the Parking Fund. If approved staff will bring a budget amendment back to the Village Board for approval.

Background
Adding electric available occupancy signs to the existing parking signage, parking patrons would have a better understanding of space availability and feel more comfortable entering the garages knowing that they will have a space waiting for them.

Because of space limitations as well as pending future changes to streetscape and wayfinding signage near the Downtown Parking Garages it is recommended:

- That existing signage be modified in six locations near Holley Court Parking Garage (see attached)
- Two new (double-sided) signs be located near Lake+Forest Garage. One at the Intersection of Lake Street and Forest Avenue and a second one at the entrance of the garage.
