Overview
New appropriations are recommended when a reasonable operational need exists but was not contemplated in the original budget document. The attached Ordinance contains budgets modifications which call for new funding as well as offsetting budget transfers from original adopted appropriations.

The attached Ordinance recommends total budget amendments totaling $(476,905) in the following Funds: General, MFT, and Federal RICO.
Background
The proposed amendments relate to a variety of specific changes. Detailed pages for each item are attached. The largest amendment is a reduction in the Motor Fuel Fund inter-fund transfer out expense to the General Fund to better match projected MFT revenues for 2016. In addition, there is an amendment in the Federal RICO Fund to permit the purchase of twenty portable AED units as well as an amendment reclassifying a position in the HR Department but without a requested increase in spending.
