Overview

Overview

This is a Parking Lot License Agreement that would authorize Josie Pierce to use Lot 116 at the corner of Madison Street and Oak Park Avenue for a one day Community Block Party on October 29, 2016.

Body

Staff Recommendation

Approve the Resolution.

Fiscal Impact

The License Agreement calls for the Licensee to have obtain appropriate insurance and indemnify the Village.

Background

The Village was approached by Ms. Pierce who was looking for a location to hold a community block party.  After discussion and review with staff it was determined that Lot 116 would work for this event.  Currently, the Village has an agreement with a Christmas Tree Farmer who rents out the lot from Thanksgiving to Christmas and Fenwick High School who uses the lot for student permit parking throughout the year.  Fenwick High School has indicated that this event would not interfere with their use of the lot as they do not have any scheduled events that will occur on October 29, 2016.

Alternatives

The Village Board could ask staff to work with the applicant to find an alternate location for their Community Block Party.

Previous Board Action

On June 1, 2015 the Village Board approved a Parking Lot License Agreement for Lot 116 for another applicant to hold a food truck rally.
