Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Overview
Overview
The purpose of this annual grant is to support local health departments to assure the protection of the public through the provision of various health protection program including food protection and communicable disease surveillance. The Health Department has maintained a State certification as a local health department since 1948. The Village has applied for $63,201. This is traditionally the maximum request the Village can seek from the IL Department of Public Health. The grant term is from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017.

Fiscal Impact
Total funding from this grant is $63, 201. The grant monies will be used to support a portion of the salaries and fringe benefits of the Health Director and two Sanitarians and will support the expense associated with the PCC Wellness Center agreement (physician consultant).

Background
The Health Department has maintained a State certification as a local health department since 1948. The Village has applied for $63,201 in Local Health Protection Grant monies. The Village anticipates receiving an intergovernmental agreement from the Illinois Department of Public Health and is requesting Village Board approval to execute the agreement.

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) administers the LHPG program, which provides funding to all certified local health departments in Illinois. This funding ensures that basic levels of protection for Oak Park residents for infectious/communicable disease and food protection. The Village of Oak Park must administer these programs in accordance with the Local Health Protection Code. IDPH has funded the LHPG program for over 20 years.
