Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. Total funding from this grant is $50,219. The grant monies will be used to support a portion of the salaries and fringe benefits of the Health Director, Health Grants Coordinator and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator.

Background
The Village has applied for $50,219 in Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) grant monies. The Village anticipates receiving an intergovernmental agreement from the Illinois Department of Public Health and is requesting Village Board approval to execute the agreement. This is a grant that the Village has managed for many years.

The purpose of this grant is to fund certain eligible Illinois certified local health departments who will be required to assess, prioritize, build, and exercise the necessary resource elements, tasks, and functions of the Centers for Disease Control's (CDC) 15 Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) Capabilities National Standards. This requires local health department's to prevent, mitigate and recover from the top hazards to the public health in its jurisdiction.

The term on this grant is from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017.
