Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Article 4B (“Pawnbrokers”) of Chapter 8 (“Business Licensing”) of the Oak Park Village Code requires that the annual renewal of the business license for pawnbrokers be given at the direction and approval of the Village President and Board of Trustees upon authorization of the Police Chief.

Background

Pursuant to Article 4B, Chief of Police Anthony Ambrose has advised that the Police Department review of  the applications for Pawnbroker Licenses is completed and concurs with issuance of licenses to the three applicants:

 

Hollywood Pawn, 6147 W. North Ave;

Cash America, 6303 North Avenue; and

Oak Park Pawn Shop DBA, A-1 American Jewelry & Pawn, 6151 North Ave.

 

Alternatives

The Village Board could delay approval pending additional information if requested.
