Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. This contract provides funding for the Health Department’s Public Health Nurse to provide specific HIV surveillance-based-services to targeted individuals living with HIV.  The contract term is from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017.

Fiscal Impact

Total funding from this grant is up to $29,470, with $9,970 being paid as monthly program funds ($830.83/month) and the remaining $19,950 paid on a fee-for-service basis.   The grant monies will be used to support a portion of the salaries and fringe benefits of Health Department staff. 

 

Background

The Village has provided HIV surveillance-based-service to targeted individuals living with HIV through an agreement with the Public Health Institute since January 1, 2014.   This contract will continue the project to locate and intervene HIV positive individuals, previously identified as residing in Oak Park, who appear to have fallen out of care. The term on this grant is from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017.

Alternatives

The Board could delay action and seek more information or, if not approved, the Health Department will discontinue the HIV prevention services program.
