Overview
Overview
Due to unforeseen circumstances during construction additional work was required as part of the 2016 Alley Improvement projects. The various change orders amount to an increase of $65,663.20. The change order adjusts the contract with Triggi Construction, Inc. from the previously authorized amount of $244,812.80 to $310,476.00

Fiscal Impact
Funds are available in the 2017 Capital Improvement Fund for Alley Improvements account no. 3095-43780-101-570964 to cover this work as a result of a Budget Amendment approved by the Village Board carrying forward funds from 2016.

Background
Triggi Construction, Inc. was one of two contractors working on the 2016 Alley Improvements project. During alley construction unforeseen water-main breaks occurred on Chicago Avenue which also under construction. The Chicago Avenue construction contractor was not available to complete the pavement repairs. Triggi was working in the Village on the alley project and was able to make the pavement repairs. This work is resulted in contract overages for the 2016 Alley Improvements project.

Previous Board Action
On June 20, 2016 the Village Board awarded a contract to Triggi Construction, Inc., for Project 16-5, 2016 Alley Improvements in an amount not to exceed $244,812.80.

On April 17, 2017 the Village Board approved a budget amendment to carry-forward unspent 2016 CIP Alley Funds in the amount of $79,557.00.
