Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Overview

The Oak Park Police Department is currently recruiting for the vacant Administrative Command position.  The Administrative Commander is key in the budget process, therefore filling this  vacancy with a temporary staff person is critical at this time.

Fiscal Impact

The Administrative Commander position has been vacant since April 3, 2017 and is budgeted for the 2017 year at $140,000 (including benefits). The use of a contractor will be cost neutral. The expense will be charged to the Police Department line item: 1001-42400-101-530660 (General Contractual) which has a balance of $219,764.73

 

 

Background

The Administrative Commander plays an integral role in developing and tracking the department’s budget, payroll and managing the administrative functions such as training and records.  While recruiting for the position, it is essential that these responsibilities be performed by a professional who can ensure the department maintains the highest level of fiscal integrity.
