Overview
The Information Technology Department is seeeking authorization to purchase 26 computer workstations and monitors to replace equipment. These units are primarily slated for Engineering, Adjudication, and the Police PEO departments. This action item is part of the scheduled equipment replacement program for FY 17.

Fiscal Impact
The FY 2017 Budget allocated $70,000 for computer equipment replacement of which $45,658.98 is remaining (account 3029-41300-905-570720). Based on the request for quote responses, the total expense for this equipment replacement is $44,380.68 and will be covered under this account.

Background
The IT department is recommending the replacement of older computers currently in use by Engineering, Adjudication, and the Police PEO departments. The older equipment is being phased out to meet new standards and to support the day-to-day operations of Village staff. A Request for Quote was broadcast and posted on the Village's website. Eight vendors responded with quotes ranging from $44,380.68 to $53,166.00. Zones responded with the lowest quote of $44,380.68.

Alternatives
The Board could elect to not fund the PC replacement which may result in reduced security and productivity due to outdated technology.

Previous Board Action
The Board has regularly approved the purchase of new equipment. The Village Board accepted the IT Strategic Plan at the August 4, 2014 regular meeting and approved the 2017 Equipment Replacement Fund in the 2017 Budget.
