Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Overview
At the July 10, 2017 Village Board Special Meeting, staff brought forth a recommendation previously reviewed by the Transportation Commission adapting a ten space metered parking lot into a permit parking lot with up to ten permits. The parking lot is located on Marion Street South of North Avenue.

Fiscal Impact
Permit income from the lot would generate $8,000-$10,000 varying based on resident and non-resident permits.

The installation of signage is budgeted in the Parking Fund and will cost approximately $200.

Background
At the July 10, 2017 Village Board Special Meeting, staff brought forth a recommendation previously reviewed by the Transportation Commission changing a ten space metered parking lot into a to permit parking lot with up to ten permits. The parking lot is located on Marion Street South of North Avenue.

This recommendation was brought forth due to the continued requests from commercial landlords and resident landlords for additional permit parking in the area. The requesters have given staff the understanding that the permits would sell out quickly due to a large need in the area.

Additionally, citizens, businesses and business associations were asked for comments regarding this recommendation and those comments are attached. Feedback is not clearly in favor or against the recommendation and attached herein.

Staff has also surveyed the existing meters, which would be eliminated. These meters have low utilization; upkeep and meter collections resulting in a higher cost than income.
