Overview
Overview
The Oak Park Arts District is requesting that the Village Board approve a funding request not to exceed $25,000 to develop a banner program for the recently installed light poles.

Body
Staff Recommendation
Approve the Resolution.

Fiscal Impact
This project will be funded using External Support line item 1001-46520-101-530667 from the Permit Processing Division of Development Customer Services.

Background
On June 5, 2017, the Village Board denied a Resolution to approve a Professional Services Agreement with Teska Associates, Inc. to prepare an update to the Harrison Street Oak Park Arts District. Representatives from the Oak Park Arts District stated that the plan did not need to be updated and believed that they could use the funds to further the district in other ways.

On January 15, 2017, staff received the attached letter from the Oak Park Arts District proposing a new program and seeking Village funds for the same - the Art Banner Project.

The project would utilize the 34 newly installed light poles along Harrison St. between Austin and Ridgeland. These poles have banner brackets and the Arts District would like to install unique, individually painted banners on each pole. In collaboration with the Oak Park Area Arts Council, artists from around the local area would be sought for the project.

Alternatives
The Board could defer action or request additional information.
