Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Overview

The Village Code currently prohibits customers from bringing dogs into “food establishments” and it is requested that the Board of Health review this restriction and provide the Village Board with a report and recommendation in support of the ordinance as it exists or any potential amendments.

Background

The Village received a request form a local business owners Tony Compaglia, BeerShop, 1026 North Boulevard, requesting an amendment to the Village Code which current prohibits dogs in a food establishment, under Chapter 5-5-2 of the Municipal Code.

Subject to the Village Board’s referral of the issue, the Board of Health will also need to consider the Illinois State Food Service Sanitation Code/2013 FDA Food Code. 

 

Alternatives

The Board can reject the motion and the current regulations will remain in effect.
