Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Overview
In 2017, the Village upgraded eight (8) Cale pay stations to pay-by-plate technology. This upgrade would assure that all parking lots follow the same payment mechanism known as Pay-By-Plate.

Fiscal Impact
The FY 2018 Parking and Mobility Services Operating Budget provides $25,000.00 for property repairs in account no. 5060-43770-787-540674. The cost will not exceed $22,400.00 in total.

Background
Historically, the Village has operated parking lots using pay-by-space philosophy of parking. As technology becomes more robust the industry trend is moving towards pay-by-plate technology. Specifically, the Village of Oak Park would benefit from the use of pay-by-plate technology in parking lots that feature time limits, due to the fact that the technology can max out a specific license plate after it has parked for the given time limit.

Pay-by-plate can benefit the Village in other ways as well, as it makes general enforcement of the parking space easier and assists with overall management of the parking system.

CALE, an international provider of parking technology is offering a 35% discount on conversion kits making it an ideal opportunity to convert the existing pay station technology the Village owns.

Currently Total Parking Solutions Inc. is extended the offering incentive to upgrade existing units which creates a discount to the village from the MSRP is $4,260.00 to a discount Price is $2,800.00 per unit.
