Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Overview

The annual Fireworks display sponsored by the Community Bank of Oak Park River Forest has been held on July 4th since 1976.

Fiscal Impact

The fireworks are paid for by citizen contributions.  There will be police officers (for traffic and crowd control), and fire department personnel as per attached documents.  GALA (Great American Lightshow Association Charitable Trust) reimburses the Fire Department for the services rendered by the firefighters who have to be on duty during the event.

 

 

Background

The annual GALA (Great American Lightshow Association Charitable Trust) 4th of July Fireworks  has been an Oak Park tradition since 1976.  GALA is asking the Village Board to authorize the fireworks display for 2017 to be held at the Oak Park-River Forest High School athletic fields.
