Overview
Overview
At the May 14, 2018 Village Board Special Meeting, staff presented recommendations for a parking pilot which included simplified restrictions based on feedback from the Transportation Commission and public comments. The Village Board asked staff to bring forth a scaled-back parking pilot program. If approved a draft ordinance will be brought forth in September 2018. Subject to approval of the Ordinance, the Pilot Area would be established in October 2018.

Anticipated Future Actions/Commitments
It is recommended that the Village Board request staff to bring forth a draft Ordinance creating the Pilot Area as part of a Regular Meeting in September 2018. Subject to approval of the Ordinance, the Pilot Area would be established in October 2018.

Staff recommends an initial 6 month pilot and to report back to the Village Board with changes. Once the program has been categorized as successful, the next step is to evaluate other areas for which the pilot program rules could apply to.

October 2018: Begin Parking Pilot Program
April 2019: 6-mth Review: Evaluate and Review possible changes to Pilot Program
September 2019: End Pilot Program and decide to keep or revert the ordinance
January 2020: Propose rules for other areas
