Overview
The Public Works Department is responsible for street sweeping Village streets throughout the community, including main streets and those in the business districts. To assist in this effort, a contractor is utilized. Waste Management has performed this work for the Village for the last two years and per the terms of the agreement this would be the second of two possible renewals.

Fiscal Impact
In the FY 2018 Street Services budget, there is $135,000.00 to perform street sweeping services in the General Contractuals account no., 1001-43740-761-530660. The current one year agreement expires August 31, 2018. It is anticipated that approximately $70,000.00 will have been spent on this work this fiscal year during the term of this agreement. This agreement overlaps two fiscal years. The FY 2018 budget provides sufficient funds for this work for the remainder of the fiscal year.
Proposed in the FY 2019 budget will be $135,000.00 for these services.
Per the terms of the initial agreement, the contractor may request an increase for their services in an amount no greater that the latest published Consumer Price Index (CPI), not to exceed 5%. As shown on the attachment, the latest CPI was 2.5%.
Background
The Village is responsible for maintaining approximately 250 lane miles which includes the sweeping of main arterials and residential streets as well as the twelve separate Business District areas.
