Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. Overview

In August of 2018 the Department of Public Works Engineering Division requested proposals for the Building demolition at 700 Madison St.  Proposals were received September 14, 2018.  16 contractors picked up proposal documents and 5 proposals were received.  The low compliant proposal that best fit the Village of Oak Park’s needs was submitted by Delta Demolition, Inc in an amount of $141,425.

The costs for project would be funded through the Madison St TIF fund account no. 2072-41300-101-570698.

 

Background

The project involves asbestos abatement and the demolition of the 700 Madison Street building (formerly Car-X) as well as disconnection of the water and sewer connections, site-grading, and installation of a fence at the completion of the project. 

 

References were checked on Delta Demolition, Inc. and there were not any issues.

The alternative to this recommendation could be to delay action to gain additional information.
