Background
The Department of Public Works, Water and Sewer Division, typically makes repairs to the water distribution and sewer collection systems. The debris material from these excavations has been hauled to the Waste Management Chicago Metro Transfer Station in Stickney for the past several years.
On March 29, 2018, the Village Board approved an agreement with Waste Management of Illinois, Inc. in the amount of $95,000.00 for the disposal of approximately 1,900 tons of excavated material from utility repairs. Due to the number and size of excavations to date this year the amount of materials disposed of has increased. The increase in this agreement amendment is an estimated amount that would be needed for the balance of the fiscal year.
