Overview
Overview
This agreement renewal is consistent with the funds approved in the FY19 budget and will result in the continuation of the outsourcing of day-to-day large project plan review and inspection activities, not currently handled by the DCS Permit Division's in-house staff, in order to provide the best customer services experience.

Body
Staff Recommendation
Approve the Resolution

Fiscal Impact
Line item 1001-46250-101-530667 (External Support) has $1,210,479.00 budgeted for FY2019. This contract will not exceed $1,120,000 of the overall $1,210,479.00 budgeted amount.
A percentage of the costs for outsourcing the plan reviews and inspections of the larger projects will be covered by the permit fees charged for those projects.

Background
In January 2015, the Village Board directed staff to issue a Request for Proposal to outsource large plan review activities and various inspection services. Staff decided the best option for Oak Park would be to outsource most inspections and plan reviews by using an in-house reviewer employed by a third party.

Alternatives
Not approve the resolution.

Previous Board Action
On May 26, 2015, the Reinventing Government Committee reviewed the proposed outsourcing model.

In December of 2016, and every year thereafter, the Village Board approved renewing this agreement.
