A Resolution for Construction on State Highways
End
Overview
Overview
The State of Illinois requires all municipalities who perform work on their highways to adopt a Resolution for Construction on State Highways. This Resolution would be in effect for two years (2019 and 2020) and would act as a Surety Bond for the Village to insure that all work is completed in accordance with State specifications and that the right of way is properly restored.
Body
Staff Recommendation
Approval the Resolution.
Fiscal Impact
There are no direct costs related to the adoption of this Resolution.
Background
There are approximately 20 miles of State highways within the Village Corporate limits. These include: Harlem Avenue, North Avenue, Roosevelt Road, Washington Boulevard and Ridgeland Avenue from Roosevelt Road to Augusta Boulevard.
The State requires that any person working within State right of way obtain a permit. In addition to the permit a Surety Bond is required to insure that all work is completed in accordance with State specifications and that the right of way is properly restored. The municipal Resolution serves as the Villages Surety Bond.
