Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Each year, the Village is required to approve a map showing “the existing uses, divisions, restrictions, regulations and classifications” of property pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/11-13-19, as the official zoning map of the Village.

Background

The Illinois Compiled State Statues requires the approval (publication) of municipal zoning maps by March 31st of each year provided map changes were made.  The Village of Oak Park is required to approve a map showing “the existing uses, divisions, restrictions, regulations and classifications” of property in the Village pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/11-13-19, as the official zoning map of the Village.

Generally each year, the Village Board has (re)adopted an updated Oak Park Offical Zoning Map.

Anticipated Future Actions/Commitments

Staff will return in March of 2020 with a request for zoning map approval pending any additional changes to the zoning map conducted in 2019.

Zoning and land use matters are unique to Village government within the corporate limits of Oak Park and therefore, intergovernmental cooperation opportunities do not exist.
