Overview
A Building Automation System is used for controlling the Public Works Center's Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning system (HVAC). Since the building controls are from Siemens Industry, Inc. the compatible Building Automation System would also be from their company. This item is for upgrading the existing system with the current version of the Siemens software.

Background
A Building Automation System is a computer-based control system installed in buildings that controls and monitors the building's mechanical and electrical equipment such as ventilation, lighting, power systems, fire systems, and security systems.
Siemens is the proprietary vendor for the Public Works Center Building Automation System. The current computer and software program is original to the building from 2007 and has reached the end of its useful service life. The Building Automation System will no longer be supported by Siemens after 2019.
The entire HVAC system at the Public Works Center is controlled by the Siemens automation software. There are numerous physical points throughout the building that are connected back to the Building Automation System computer in the mechanical room.
