Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. The Village Board also meets in special sessions from time to time. However, dates and times of Special Meetings can vary and may change.

Staff recommends that the Village enter into an Employee Leasing Agreement for a temporary Assistant Village Manager/Human Resources Director through mid-August 2019 while the recruitment for a new Director is completed in order to minimize disruption with human resources services within the Village.   An interim candidate has been identified through GovTempUSA LLC.

Fiscal Impact

Estimated cost of the contract is $46,400.  The position is currently vacant and savings in Department expenditures are available to fund the expenses associated with this contract subject to a line item budget amendment. 

 

 

Background

The Assistant Village Manager/Human Resources Director is a key management position in the organization.  The AVM/HR Director duites include but are not limited to the recruitment/retention efforts for Village staff as well as the benefits function for employees and retirees of the Village of Oak Park and serves as the staff liaison to the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners and the Citizen Police Oversight Committee.
