The BVP reimburses 50% of the vest cost. The FY 19 budget included the 50% match in account 1001.42400.101.560625.
Background
Bulletproof Vest Partnership (BVP), created by the Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Act of 1998 is a unique U.S. Department of Justice initiative designed to provide a critical resource to state and local law enforcement. The Police Department purchases vests for new officers and replaces vests every five years. The Police Department is applying for 28 vests equaling a funding total of $7,700.
