Overview
Competitive bids were opened on May 2, 2019, for the 19-15 Resurfacing of Various Streets project. Ten contractors picked up bid documents and four bids were received. The low responsible bid was submitted by Lindahl Brothers, Inc. in an amount of $1,360,262,04. The project includes 11 blocks throughout the village. Lindahl Brothers, Inc., has agreed to reduce the project scope to $1,143,903 to fit within the budgeted amount of $1,167,833.59.

Fiscal Impact
The costs for the project would be funded through the Capital Improvement Fund for Local Street Construction account no. 3095-43780-101-570951 which provides $1,062,833.59 for street resurfacing on local streets, and the CDBG account no. 2083-46201-668-583652 which provides $105,000.00 in funds for ADA corner upgrades.

Background
This project includes 6 resurfacing blocks and 5 reconstruction blocks for a total of 11 blocks on 6 different streets throughout the Village, and upgrading corners to be in compliance with ADA requirements using CDBG funds. The work also includes installing bike-friendly chokers on the 1200 Blocks of North Lombard Avenue and North Taylor Avenue.

The Village has previously worked with Lindahl Brothers, Inc. on similar projects and they have performed good work in the past.
