Background

The Oak Park River Forest Workgroup for Positive Youth Development (PYD) was founded in 2015 and comprised of parents, educators, law enforcement officials and youth-serving organizations.   Through application of the Strategic Prevention Framework, the PYD mission and vision is to provide practical insight and guidance to support youth in making choices that lead to healthy, alcohol-free lives.  Operated through the Oak Park Township, the PYD is funded by a five-year grant from the Federal Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, administered from the Illinois Department of Human Services.
