Overview
The Engineering Division requested proposals for topographic surveying for the 2020 capital improvement program and also including Division Street for construction in 2021. The Village received twelve proposals for this work. The proposal from Mackie Consultants best fit the Village's needs while also at a competitive price.

Fiscal Impact
The FY 2019 Budget includes $40,000 for Local Street Improvement Surveying in the Capital Improvement Fund, Public Works-Engineering, Project Engineering, account no. 3095-43780-101-570706; and $35,000 in the Capital Improvement Fund, Public Works-Engineering, Local Street Construction, account no. 3095-43780-101-570951 to fund this work.
Background
The proposed survey work is needed in order to prepare detailed engineering design for the 2020 annual capital improvements for local street resurfacing projects, water and sewer improvement projects, and the future street resurfacing and water and sewer improvements on Division Street. The scope of the work under this contract includes the full topographic surveys as well as providing locations and depths of underground utilities. The results of the survey are used as the base for all engineering design of the various projects.
Examples of recent survey work was reviewed for the three lowest proposals received and it was determined that the recent work from Mackie Consultants best met the village's requirements.
Alternatives
The alternative to this recommendation could be to delay action to gain additional information.
