Overview

Overview

Redhawk Productions seeks to enter into a parking lot license agreement with the Village for the Village owned vacant parking lot in order to set up trailers and parking for the film crew for the television series Fargo. The filming will take place over the next several months but will only require use of the Village’s lot for one to two days at a time.

Fiscal Impact

The daily rate for lease of the Village’s property is $1,650.00.

Background

From time to time, the Village enters into parking lot license agreements for Village owned parking lots and vacant parcels.  Redhawk seeks to use the Village owned parcels to set up trailers for the cast and crew of the television series Fargo. Redhawk expects to film in Oak Park 1-2 days a month between late October 2019 and March 2020.

Redhawk understands that the Village previously entered into a lease agreement with Joseph Dombrowski for a portion of the Village’s parking lot between late November through December 24, 2019 to sell trees. Redhawk has agreed to allow the tree sales to continue during any potential filming dates in November and December.

Alternatives

The Village Board could seek additional information, however this request is time sensitive with the filming dates approaching.

Previous Board Action

On October 7, 2019, the Village Board approved a parking lot license agreement with Joseph Dombrowski to sell trees in November and December.
