Overview
This item includes connecting the existing sump pit drain lines in the Council Chambers geothermal vault at the northeast corner of Village Hall to the existing sewer on Taylor Street. In addition, as alternate #1, this project also includes increasing the depth of the two existing sump pits in the same geothermal vault from two inches to twelve inches.

Fiscal Impact
The FY2019 CIP Building Improvement Fund Budget includes a total of $40,000.00 in account no. 3012-43790-101-540673 for geothermal vault drainage improvements.
If approved, the total contract cost with Concept Plumbing would not exceed $49,517.43 ($44,330.92 bid price plus alternate #1 for $2,828.54 plus a 5% contingency [$2,357.97] for unforeseen conditions). The difference of $9,517.43 would be covered by $20,000.00 of unspent funds from the 2019 CIP Building Improvement Fund budget, Fleet Shop HVAC Upgrade Project, which will not be completed and is being removed from the CIP.
Background
The Public Works Department issued a Request for Proposals on September 25, 2019 for the Village Hall geothermal vault drainage improvement project. The RFP was advertised in the Wednesday Journal and on the Village web page. Staff also sent the RFP to several general contractors. A total of four proposals were received. Staff recommends accepting the proposal from Concept Plumbing, Inc.
