Regular Village Board meetings are typically held at 7:00 p.m., the first three Tuesdays of each month in Council Chambers of Village Hall (room 201), 123 Madison St. When a Regular Meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting typically is held the following night. Overview
Overview
The Village received two competitive bids for purchasing traffic signal mast arm assemblies for the upcoming Lake Street Streetscape project. Traffic signal posts and mast arms currently take about eight months to fabricate and deliver. In order to construct the Lake Street project in one year, the Engineering division requested proposals for purchasing the traffic signal poles for the and arms now. The low responsible bid was submitted by Hecker and Company Inc. in an amount of $278,856.

Fiscal Impact
The proposed FY2020 Budget includes $7,162,022 in the Capital Improvement Fund, Public Works - Engineering, Streetscaping, for the Lake Street Streetscape Project which will be used to fund this work.

Background
Currently traffic signal posts and mast arms take approximately 8-months for fabrication and delivery. The proposed Lake Street Streetscape project includes traffic signal improvements at five intersections (Marion, Forest, Kenilworth, Oak Park, and Euclid Avenues). In order to construct the streetscape project in one year the traffic signal posts and mast arms need to be ordered in advance. This contract is just for the purchase of the material and includes the fabrication, storage, and delivery of the 16 steel traffic signal poles with mast arms for the proposed streetscape project.

The proposed streetscape project is currently scheduled to be bid by IDOT in January of 2020. IDOT does not typically execute contracts until mid to late March for these contracts and the contractor is not authorized to order materials until typically early April. Based on an 8-mon...
