Overview
Competitive bids were opened on October 31st for the 20-11 Lake Street Resurfacing project. Four contractors picked up bid documents and three bids were received. The low responsible bid was submitted by Lindahl Brothers, Inc. in an amount of $1,992,644.73. The project includes resurfacing Lake Street from Euclid Avenue to Austin Boulevard and is scheduled for construction in the summer of 2020.

Fiscal Impact
The project will be constructed in 2020. The recommended FY2020 Budget includes the $1,992,645 needed for this project in the Capital Improvement Fund, Public Works - Engineering, for Local Street Construction, account no. 3095-43780-101-570951.
The Village received a $310,000 grant to fund a portion of the project from Cook County. Per the terms of the IGA, Cook County will pay the Village half the grant amount equal to $155,000 following award of the construction contract. The remaining balance will be paid to the Village during construction and after final completion of the project.
Background
The project's scope includes corner sidewalk ramp replacements for ADA compliance, resurfacing the street, curb and sidewalk patching, safety enhancements at the Scoville intersection, and minor landscaping and sidewalk improvements in the areas between Humphrey and Austin to account for new businesses and to address deteriorated landscaping. The construction of the project is scheduled for the summer of 2020.
