Background
Upon recommendation of the Village's verterinarian who treats Police K9 Zeke, it has been determined that Zeke is not able to continue to work in the future as a Police K9 due to his age and current health condition. Therefore, Police K9 Zeke is retiring and Officer Leitl has requested ownership of Zeke as a retired K9.

Zeke was born 01-Dec-2011 in Poland. He was then selected and bred as a working dog by LucasK9, which is located in Lask, Poland. In December of 2012 Zeke was purchased by Mid-Michigan Police K9 and was brought to the United States for further police training. Zeke was trained to search for narcotics; including Marijuana, Cocaine, Heroin, Methamphetamine, and MOMA. Zeke was also trained in building searches, area searches, tracking, aggression control, handler protection, obedience and article searches. Zeke received certification in these categories from various organizations including the International Police Work Dog Association, the North American Police Work Dog Association and the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board. Zeke and Officer Leitl completed monthly maintenance training with various Cook County area K9 Teams.

Throughout his career, Zeke and Officer Leitl completed several drug and money seizures. Assisting DEA investigations resulting in over $1.7 million in money sniffs. Additionally below is a breakdown of Zeke's deployments.
