Fiscal Impact

The hourly fee for the administrative law judge is $80.00.  This rate is consistent with the rates in many other suburban communities whose hourly rates range from $65.00 to $125.00.  The FY20 budget is $162,000 for these services.  The payment to all administrative law judges will not exceed $132,000.00.  The balance for that line is for the baliffs ($30,000.00).

Background

The Adjudication Law Judges, as a group, will hear/review in ecess of 6,000 cases in 2020.  The Adjudication Law Judges currently all meet State Law requirements for their positions.  The Administrative Law Judges have served the Village through the Adjudication Office for more than a decade.
