Fiscal Impact
The Fire Department designated $72,000 in the 2020 Capital Equipment budget (Technology Request #1) for this purchase.
Background
Cardiac monitors are an essential tool for paramedics. They are used for many emergency treatment functions including cardiac rhythm interpretation, defibrillation, monitoring oxygen blood levels, and ensuring proper endotracheal intubation placement. The Fire department has been replacing cardiac monitors over the last four years phasing out older “E-Series” with new “X-Series” monitors. All of the Fire Departments monitors are Zoll monitors which is a significant training, maintenance, and deployment benefit to have all the monitors identical.
