Fiscal Impact
The Fiscal Year 2020 General Fund, Public Works Department, Building Maintenance Division Operating Budget includes a total of $123,000 in accounts 1001-43790-711, 713, 714 and 717-540674 for property repairs. To date, $123,000 remains.
If approved, the total contract cost with Oak Brook Mechanical Services, Inc. would not exceed $35,000.00.
Background
In early January of 2019, Public Works Department staff solicited several area HVAC contractors for labor rates for emergency repairs. Oak Brook Mechanical Services, Inc. submitted the most favorable rates and the Village entered into an Independent Contractor Agreement with Oak Brook Mechanical Services, Inc. in February of 2019.
Oak Brook Mechanical Services, Inc. has been the Village's HVAC contractor in previous years and has performed very well. They provide same-day service and are very familiar with all of the HVAC components in all Village buildings.
Alternatives
The Village Board could delay action to gain additional information.
