Overview
The Fiscal Year 2020 Fleet Replacement Fund includes the replacement of a Parking Enforcement vehicle, a 2012 Ford Escape, with a 2020 Ford Hybrid Escape. The vehicle is being purchase through the Suburban Purchasing cooperative (SPC) in order to ta advantage of the volume discounts involved in such joint purchasing efforts. The SPC awarded the bid to Currie Motors of Frankfort, Illinois.

Fiscal Impact
The purchase of one 2020 Ford Hybrid Escape will cost $27,213.00. Funding is provided in the Fleet Replacement Fund in account No. 3032-43900-856-570750 in the amount of $30,000.00.
Funds for necessary equipment such as light bars, warning lights, etc. will also come from this account but will be purchased separately from vendors who supply this equipment.
Background
Each year, the Village allocates funds for the annual replacement of vehicles in the Fleet Replacement Fund. The Public Works Department manages the budget for vehicles that will replace those units having reached the end of their service life under the fleet replacement program.
The new vehicle will include a 2.5 Liter, I-4 Hybrid engine and comes with a three year, 36,000 mile bumper to bumper and five year, 60,000 mile drivetrain warranty, as well as 8 years, 100,000 miles on the hybrid components.
The drive components are based off of the Ford Fusion Hybrid vehicles already deployed in the Village fleet. Hybrid drive is predicted to save 40% of fuel spend from vehicle that is being replaced.
