Due to Lake Street construction project, staff recommends that the Village extend the free parking times at the Avenue garage from 1 hour to 1.5 hours consistent with the Village’s parking structures in the downtown parking garage.

Fiscal Impact
We are unable to calculate the exact amount of lost revenue because we do not have data showing how many individuals park between 1.5 hours and 2 hours at the garage. We do not anticipate the loss of revenue to be significant.
Background
On May 2, 2016, the Village Board approved an Ordinance increasing free parking from 1 hour to 1.5 hours at the Holley Court and Lake and Forest Garages during the pendency of the downtown construction projects including the Lake Street Streetscape program. Staff recommends extending the 1.5 hours free to the Avenue Garage during the Lake Street Streetscape Project.
